Anushka Shetty is an young actress in the Kollywood and Tollywood industries. She was born in Mangalore and is Kannada by heritage. Anushka was born in a Tulu speaking family in Mangalore. Her mother tongue is tulu as she is a Mangalorian. She has two brothers: Dr. Sai Ramesh, a postgraduate in Dentistry, and Gunaranjan, a businessman. She has a Bachelor Degree in computer applications (B.C.A) from Bangalore University. After completing graduation in Computer Applications, she learned yoga. Anushka trained Yoga under yoga guru Bharat Thakur and evnetually became a yoga instructer. Puri Jagannadh happened to see Anushka through another director and she got selected for the 2005 Telugu film Super.

Anushka Shetty debuted in 2005 Nagarjuna’s Super, and her debut film in Tamil was “Rendu” with R. Madhavan. Following year there was 4 releases for her. Anushka Shetty is rising up the popularity charts quite fast. A former yoga instructor, Anushka Shetty has become one of the most sought-after heroines in the Tamil and Telugu film industry. In 2008, she has had four releases — Swagatham, Baladoor, Souryam and Chintakayala Ravi — where she was quite impressive.
