Taapsee Pannu (born August 1, 1987) is an Indian model-turned-film actress. An ethnic Punjabi, she was a software engineer before pursuing modelling which eventually led her to acting.[1] Appearing in several commercials, Taapsee also won Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face and Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin, during her modelling days.[2] She made her acting debut in 2010 with K. Raghavendra Rao's romantic-musical Jhummandi Naadam.[3] Later, she made her Tamil debut with multiple national award winning Aadukalam.[4] She made her foray into Malayalam cinema with Doubles, starring opposite Mammootty,[5] and has since signed half-a-dozen films in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
